Bento Box - Chicken teriyaki, white rice, salad, California roll, miso soup not pictured, and fried tempura. Absolutely delicious! Been going here for over 10 years. The sushi is amazing as well. Highly recommended.

My favorite little Sushi spot in the discovery bay/ Brentwood area. It's my number one go to spot for chill vibes and great food.

I'm not a huge fan of sushi, but I cannot get enough of this place. I have not had food from here that I did not enjoy. Staff is friendly.

The food was great. A minor complaint is too much dressing on the salad, but I guess it’s better than not enough dressing. I would also serve the 2 orders together, instead of one right away and the other 15 minutes later. Again, minor issues compared with the quality of the food.

I've been meaning to write this review for so long! Discovery Bay Matsuyama has amazingly fresh cuts of fish. Definitely the best in the area! They are generous with portion sizes and the cost is very reasonable for such good fish. I only order to-go, but it's always speedy and they are always genuinely thankful and kind. We always get the sashimi deluxe and one or two rolls, which is plenty for a party of two. I highly recommend this to any real sushi lover. They get busy on Fridays and Saturdays, so order accordingly!

This is part of a small chain and the only Japanese restaurant in town. It is in a Safeway/CVS plaza along with several other casual restaurants. Seating is very limited, maybe 24 max and staffing is such that a full house is a challenge. I have rarely dined on premise so that is just an observation. Take out is equal to or more than dine in and best to order ahead as 25 to 40 minute waits are common. Food is consistent and the Bento Box at $17.95 is quite good value. Sushi rolls average $16.95 and are acceptable without being overly imaginative. A pet peeve is putting them in a container that is too small. Overall, an ok place for casual Japanese food and we continue to visit every couple of weeks.

The sushi rolls were great. I highly recommend the jalepeno bomb. Katsu chicken was great as well. Can't go wrong with soft shell crab roll.

Great food! We received amazing and quick service.The staff was very friendly and very hospitable. This is a must try if you are passing by discovery bay and want some sushi!
